How the nursery operates

Introduced in fiscal 2016, this model lets nearby partner companies share a company-established childcare facility as a jointly used nursery.

How does company-led childcare differ from a licensed nursery?

A licensed nursery is approved by the municipality. Families apply to the municipal office for recognition of their need for childcare; the municipality decides admission, and fees depend on the previous year's household income.
Company-led nurseries operate under the same staffing, safety and hygiene standards as ordinary licensed nurseries. Applications go directly to the nursery, which decides admission, with fees comparable to licensed childcare.

Who can use company-led childcare?

Employees of partner companies with a shared-use agreement and employees of other companies may apply under company or community places. National rules give priority to children using company places.

Company places

• Employees of partner workplaces that have a shared-use agreement, participate in social insurance and pay the child-rearing contribution. Part-time employees not enrolled in social insurance are also included.

Community places

• Employees of companies without a shared-use agreement with our nursery.
• People enrolled in Employees' Pension Insurance, National Health Insurance or mutual aid insurance, such as public employees.

How do I apply for company-led childcare?

Please apply directly to the nursery.
For a company place, your employer signs a shared-use partnership agreement with us at no cost.
Other applicants use community places and submit either an employment certificate from their employer or a municipal certificate of childcare need under Article 20 of the Child and Child-Rearing Support Act.
